Easy Crescent Roll recipe stuffed with bruschetta and mozzarella for an appetizer or dinner side win!
This Crescent roll recipe is soft, buttery, and cheesy made with Pillsbury crescent rolls and packed with pre-made Italian basil bruschetta. It simply doesn’t get any easier – or more delicious! You can assemble the crescent rolls ahead of time, make ahead of time and even freeze – all instructions included!
crescent roll Recipe
Is it crescent or croissant? I really don’t know, but either way, I’m convinced you could stuff a Pillsbury crescent roll with almost anything and it would taste delicious. And from unashamed personal experience, I know if you stuff the soft, buttery flaky dough with bruschetta and mozzarella – you won’t be able to stop stuffing your face.
Although I love to make homemade dough – like my recent Soft and Fluffy Dinner Rolls and Buttery Parmesan Breadsticks – I really only make homemade baked goods for special occasions, (with the exception of my Perfect Pizza Crust because it makes the pizza!), so this 3 Ingredient crescent roll recipe comes in handy as a tasty side or appetizer because it is easy enough for everyday, but delicious enough for company.
To make this easy crescent roll recipe, the premade dough is first spread with jarred bruschetta. I actually picked up bruschetta by accident instead of plain sun-dried tomatoes (the bruschetta is made with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, garlic, etc.) and that is how this whole “recipe” started. I honestly didn’t even know they made jarred “Bruschetta” but I am so glad I know now!
The bruschetta is then topped with mozzarella cheese and then the crescent rolls are rolled up and baked to golden, cheesy perfection. How easy is that?!
Pillsbury crescent rolls
I recommend Pillsbury crescent rolls for this crescent roll recipe because they are super easy to work with, bake up buttery, flaky and delicious. You will need one 8 oz. can Pillsbury™ crescent rolls. I always like to keep some stocked in the refrigerator because then I can whip up these crescent rolls at a moments notice.
Of course, if you have a favorite crescent roll recipe, you are more than welcome to use that – the crescent rolls will just require more than a moment’s notice ;).
How to Make crescent roll recipe
Step 1: Prepare Dough
- Pop the can of Pillsbury crescent rolls.
- Roll crescent roll dough out on a nonslip mat or parchment paper so it doesn’t stick. Alternatively you can roll out on a lightly floured surface.
- Separate the dough along the proliferated lines to create 8 triangles.
Step 2: Add filling
- Spread 1 heaping tablespoon bruschetta on each triangle, keeping the edges clear so it won’t squeeze out the sides once rolled.
- Top bruschetta with 1 heaping tablespoon mozzarella cheese.
Step 3: Roll
- Roll up each triangle, starting at shortest side and rolling to opposite point.
- Place crescent rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a nonstick mat.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake crescent roll recipe at 375 degrees F for 10-14 minutes or until golden.
- And in just a few minutes and with only 3 ingredients, golden, buttery, cheesy Bruschetta Crescent rolls coming out of your oven and oozing, melty cheese, sundried tomatoes, basil, garlic in a soft, puffy, flaky buttery crescent are stuffing your mouth.
- Because life is too short to just eat one.
Make Ahead Crescent Roll Recipe
- Crescent rolls can be filled and shaped, then placed on prepared baking sheet up to 2 hours before baking. Do not make more than 2 hours before baking or they will not rise as well.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
- Add an additional 2-3 minutes to baking time.
How to Keep Crescent Rolls Warm
- Heat dry beans by wrapping them in a kitchen towel and microwaving until warm. Alternatively, you can heat balls of foil in the oven while cooking the crescent rolls and add those to the bottom of the basket.
- Place heated beans in the bottom of a napkin lined basket and add the warm crescent rolls.
- Wrap the crescent rolls with sides of the napkin that line the basket or top with another clean kitchen towel.

What brand bruschetta did you use? There’s so many diff types, with three ingredients it matters! also did you use fresh mozzarella or packaged shredded.
Thanks!!

Hi Ria, honestly this recipe is years old so I don’t remember – sorry! I prefer fresh mozzarella – freshly grated always melts better. Enjoy!
